When a Mistake Becomes a Favourite Photo
So on this day I was shooting a full day of junior rugby league games, some 10 hours across up to 40 games, essentially non stop shooting, bar the walking between the 3 fields that were being used. In general, very simplistic shooting and nothing that really jumped out while shooting as being “a great shot”, and even if it did, it was sure to blend into the 4000 odd pictures taken on the day.
One Crazy Night in the Bronx
In September / October of 2022 I went on what would only be called a sporting pilgrimage of the USA, 6 cities, 3 weeks, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Magic Shows and rock concerts, convertible cars, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas – it sounds like my own version of We Didn’t Start the Fire.

2018 NRL Grand Final

Major League Baseball in Sydney
20-23 March 2014. Major League Baseball comes to Sydney. I’d spent the best part of 18 months working to secure business with the MLB for the company that I worked with at the time – it ended up being fruitful both professionally and personally. Going the extra mile, I was more than happy to provide onsite support for each of the games “just in case”.
Superbowl XXIX
Sunday January 29, 1995. Superbowl XXIX in Miami Florida. This blog is titled “A Picture Tells a Thousand Words”, I feel as though I should add, “- even bad ones!”.
Sydney ParaOlympics Tennis
Saturday October 28, 2000. Sydney in 2000 was all about the Olympics, for the most part, the entire city was suddenly sport fanatics. In the lead up there were people who took up discounted flights and out of town holidays, but for the most part everyone was on board.
Dual 101
In checking details for this, CricInfo lists the crowd on this day as 3,800, which I suspect for any domestic game, especially midweek, was a great crowd. I cannot remember the oval as being overly busy, I had free range and roam of the field for taking photos – except for the allocated members stand which also acted as the players enclosure.
